About our guest Brendan McCarron:

Brendan works closely with the Distillery Managers and their teams to ensure that the quality of spirit produced at both Glenmorangie and Ardbeg is consistently perfect. He also ensures that the right amount of liquid, wood and stocks are laid down to develop the future expression of Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.

As part of the whisky creation team, and as Dr Bill Lumsden’s heir apparent, Brendan carries out sensory analysis of the new make and mature spirits and plays a pivotal role in developing new expressions of Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.

During his career in the whisky industry, Brendan has helped to design Roseisle Distillery – the first distillery to be built in Speyside for 30 years; managed Oban Distillery; and was group manager of Lagavulin Distillery, Caol Ila Distillery and Port Ellen Maltings on Islay.

Brendan holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and was awarded the Worshipful Company of Distillers award for his diploma in distilling.
